No, you do not need to own a home to join Walkon. If you are renting, you can still participate. Because there are no direct financial transactions between members, the experience works more like hosting trusted friends than running a short-term rental business.
You can also join Walkon by sharing your expertise with the community. Members can earn points by offering a skill, service, workshop or experience, making travel accessible even without having a home to exchange.
Walkon is a members-only community built on trust and contribution. To join, you'll need an invitation from an existing member or you can apply through our waitlist. Once your profile is approved, you can list a home or a skill and start participating in the network.
The cleaning fee helps ensure homes will be cleaned before and after each stay, so you don't have to worry about coordinating cleaning logistics when hosting someone in your space. Our goal is to make the experience as simple and seamless as possible for both hosts and guests.
Walkon is an invite-only community built around trust. To help create safe and reliable exchanges, we offer community reviews, clear house rules, and support processes for members whenever needed.
While Walkon does not currently offer insurance coverage, we have put safeguards in place to promote accountability and help resolve issues that may occur.
If your host cancels a confirmed stay within 7 days of your check-in date, helping you find another home within the community becomes our priority. Depending on when the cancellation occurs, you may also receive additional points as compensation according to our Cancellation & Refund Policy.
Yes. You can cancel your membership at any time through your account settings.
Membership fees are fully refundable within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not completed a stay, hosted a stay, completed a skill session, or redeemed any membership benefits.
No, many valuable skills do not require formal qualifications. However, members are responsible for complying with any local laws, or professional regulations that may apply to the services they offer. To maintain quality within the community, each member may list only one skill, representing the expertise they are most confident sharing with others.
